I think this work will give a special touch to my catalog because of the colors and the musical functions, I made a trip to the classic R&B and added a touch of Godspell without losing the modernity, the craziest thing about this style is that I did it in Spanish. I think it is a song that will be enjoyed very much (I already do) and I can even say that it is something innovative for a Spanish singer.

After many years of travelling the country and further afield, supporting the likes of Nick Lowe, Sarah Jarosz, Speirs & Bowden and in a variety of live settings, Canterbury (UK) dweller Sam Brothers has announced the release of a new EP which will be available on all streaming platforms from Friday 5th April 2024.

Due to the fact that Sam makes his living from performing, whether it be on larger stages as far away as South Korea or closer to home in the darkest depths of Kentish alehouses, it made sense that this new collection of mostly original music should be a reflection of his live performances. It was recorded by Producer/Engineer Neil Sullivan (Chris Difford, Gorrilaz, Damo Suzuki) without a great deal of overdubs or audio processing.

The collection has a strong 1960’s Greenwich Village vibe, the arrangements nod towards Irish Folk music with Bodhran courtesy of Stewart Hughes and following in the folk tradition, this collection of six songs is thematically varied. You can expect songs dealing with war in the middle east, materialism and love, not a million miles away from some of the work of folk luminaries such as Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger.

The new 6 track collection titled “The Folksinger” is in Sam’s own words “….An honest representation of where I’m at musically and is at its heart, a love letter to a kind of music that has guided me along the road”.

A track from the EP entitled “Through The Dark” will be released on streaming platforms Friday 15th March and there will be a launch show at St. Mary’s Art Centre, Sandwich on Friday 5th April featuring original Rolling Stone/Pretty Things guitarist Dick Taylor with whom Sam has worked with extensively over the years. Sam will go on to spread the word about the EP around the UK and Germany throughout April and May.

She had a father who struggled with work, family and music life. Her father was a multi-talent as well who could sing, Write/Compose/Produce and play guitar. Starting at the age of 3 Anastacia’s father was teaching her how to sing and write Iryics. As she started getting older her father put her in music and acting classes at the age 5. When her father moved his family to Wisconsin. On her 7th birthday he put her on stage with him for the first time, to sing for all the veterans. As time went by her father had Anastacia singing with him at venues in Wisconsin until the age of 11.

Her family then moved back to Chicago Illinois because her father fell ill. Her father and her stopped performing because of his health issues. So, Anastacia was only performing in high school musicals and with a few local bands. She went on to college and was studying to get a degree in Music and Psychology. At that time family life then took over and she realized that she had to put her passions and dreams on hold. A bit later down the road she decided to get back into Acting and Singing. As she started working in the Independent Film Industry. She decided to work both sides of the coin and is Acting, Singing and working behind the scenes.

She is a Producer/Assistant Director/Casting Director/Art Director/Set Decorator/Assistant MUA. In the beginning of her career, she was working on a film project, that had to deal with the famous mobster AL Capone and his love for music. She told the Film Producer that she sings and writes music too. So, the Producer asked her to write a song for the film and to sing it in the movie. While she was in the process of writing her song and getting it together. The Producer was telling her how AL Capone wrote music too while being in jail. He then showed Anastacia copies of two music sheets that AL Capone supposedly wrote. The story goes that AL Capone wrote those songs for his beloved wife while being incarcerated.

But as Anastacia was reading the sheet music to both of the songs something felt off. To her the lyrics seemed to not match up and she felt that the lyrics where not about his wife Mae Capone. So she told the Producer that she felt that AL Capone did not write these songs. The Producer started to be very adamant with her that he did. That’s when she took it upon herself to go investigate the matter on her own. To prove to the Producer that her hunches were not wrong.

She did some very deep investigations and at times would hit a brick wall. But she was so determined to find out the truth of it all. After exactly one year to the date that she started looking. She finally found what she was looking for and it got her in the Boston Globe Newspaper on May 19, 2018. With the headlines saying “They finally got AL Capone for tax evasion. But what about Plagiarism”? Anastacia had exposed the famouse mobster AL Capone for Plagiarism. She achieved what no historian has ever done.

A lot of other historians have thought that he did write those songs. So, from this achievement it in turn has given her Celebrity status. A year later the Pandemic hit and then she met Pop Star Gene Roberts on Facebook. Anastacia Bella found out that they share a lot of the same qualities and talents. She views Pop Star Gene Roberts to have a very dynamic and unique way with his music. So, after conversing with each other they decided to get together. To form Eugana Records LLC and to wow the world with their music.

Gene Roberts is a well-known artist in the Music Industry making a huge comeback with his multi-Talents. Pop star Singer-Songwriter/Producer/Composer Gene Roberts grew up In the Bronx, New York. He started playing music at the age of seven years old. Gene became a fast learner and started to wow people with his creative talent. Then he started working with local bands, at the age of 13. A small record label called Saunder Records seen him perform and picked him up. Gene Roberts went on to record his first album with that label.

Some of his songs from that album had made radio airplay during that time. As time went on he then got picked up agian by a major label, called Mercury Records. During that time two singles of his where released by the Label. The one song called “The One You Love” made gold. With his newly found fame he was determined to become a household name. Later on he left Mercury Records to pursue his career with a different label called Val Records LLC. The owner of Val Records LLC, Virginia Ann Lomnicki also became Gene Roberts personal manager. In 2009 he made an album called “WaterRain” and that too went gold for him.

It went on various major radio stations like Power 105.1 Fm, Hot 97 and other radio stations. He also got the privilege to perform his hit songs live on the radio. For a radio DJ at the Bowery Poetry club in New York City. The three songs that went gold for him on that album are, “Your Undercover”, Is It Love, and Your The One. The song “Your The One” became a well-known jingle on t.v. Statewide. The Campbell’s soup company picked it up and used it in their Heart and Harty commercial for two years. His fame got him a chance to appear on the Dave Letterman show and the Apolo in Harlem. His career at that time started to take off even higher than ever. He then started to act in movies and played alongside famouse A-list actors like, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. That film was called “The Papers”.

Also he was acting on various television shows like “Law and Order” special victims unit. Blue Bloods and Daredevil just to name a few. In 2020 he left Val Records LLC/Val management to co-create Eugana Records LLC. During that time, he met Anastacia Bella and found out that they share a lot of the same passions. Gene Roberts thinks that Anastacia Bella has a very cool and edgy sense of music style. So, after some collaborating and expressing how they appreciate one another’s Singing/Writing abilities. They decided to partner up and show the world their unique flavor.

The Queensland Tiger is an artist who focuses on traditional Australian folk songs, which are known for their timeless essence and personal themes. Featured are his distinctive keyboard melodies and heartfelt vocal style, which fit seamlessly within this genre’s style and narrative.

“Drovers, Stockmen and Bullockies” is his fifth release. His previous albums have included a tribute to the Australian poet Henry Lawson, a national literary icon. This release is also deeply tied to the history and lore of Australia, and features an extensive track list of eighteen songs, which includes literary ballads by highly respected Australian poets such as Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson, as well as many traditional songs. Despite the adversity of the times , there’s room for some lighter, more humorous songs too.

But why have these particular songs and poems been chosen ? Firstly, because the works of this period have a genuine directness and lyrical charm: many of the stories are down to earth and come from the heart. Secondly, because they best depict the hard lives of rural workers in the century when Australia was still considered a new frontier: a difficult land that offered many challenges to people, some from the other side of the world, who were looking to build new lives. What followed were new generations, born into this tough environment, which fostered distinctive Australian traditions. This album can feel like a musical time capsule that takes the audience back to the 19th century : one can easily imagine the lives of these stockmen, drovers and (often forgotten) bullockies.

This artist puts a lot of passion and resources into a project, creating an album that encapsulates the spirit of folk music while presenting a fresh approach. He sets the mood with clear vocals and immersive keyboards, using lengthy bridges. In these bridges, and throughout the songs, a diverse range of talented musicians provide engaging breaks and supporting lines, broadening the sound. These include : international cellist Natasha Jaffe ; the delightful, brilliant young fiddler, Jessie Morgan ; violinist John Joe Murray ; violist Mikhail Bugaev ; and the lyrical multi instrumentalist, Lillian Penner.

The album has many highlights : one is the opening track, “Travelling Down the Castlereagh” , a political poem by Banjo Paterson. This musical rendition offers a sparse yet interesting piano arrangement. The lead vocal is backed up on the chorus by Lillian Penner, who also plays some wonderful strings linking the verses. “Andy’s Gone with Cattle” is another notable moment. The track features words by Henry Lawson paired with a great tune by the late Hugh McDonald. John Joe Murray provides a stunning violin track, which brings the emotion of the song sharply into focus, enabling the audience to immerse themselves in the story and listen to the moving words of this famous poem, one of three of Lawson’s on the album. Transforming poems into music presents a unique set of challenges for musicians and songwriters.

One of the primary difficulties lies in maintaining the essence and emotional depth of the original poem, while fitting this into the constraints of melody, rhythm, and verse structure. The Queensland Tiger’s arrangements stay true to the spirit of the original work, and in most cases, he sings the entire poem. About half the melodies are traditional, while others were written by Australian folk artists like Mike (and Michelle) Jackson, Hugh McDonald, and Graham Jenkin. It was Graham Jenkin who wrote the tunes for the three “Breaker” Morant poems on the album.

This production isn’t just entertaining and relatable, it’s also educational and thought-provoking. It shines a light on Australia’s rich history, focusing on one of the country’s most colourful eras. The Queensland Tiger manages to go beyond mere historical facts, offering listeners a profound glimpse into the humanity of the period, delving into the depths of people’s experiences and capturing the struggles, triumphs, and nuances of colonial times, breathing new life into history.

“Drovers, Stockmen and Bullockies” belongs to a series of traditional folk albums from this artist which explore different aspects of Australia’s colonial history. It is the aim of The Queensland Tiger to keep these important musical and literary traditions alive.

Smile’s arrangement is in a way a testament to Aria’s decades spanning legacy in the music industry. In doing so, it demonstrates the mastery that comes with having been in the industry for so long now, such is the case with Aria.

Last Friday, August 4th, the Brazilian band Armored Dawn released their newest single “Brand New Way”, which is part of the band’s forthcoming fourth album, which will be released in the second half of 2023. Different from the heavy theme of the last singles “S.O.S.” and “Tides”, “Brand New Way” brings a more optimistic view of life, of how we shouldn’t let ourselves be overwhelmed by defeats or by those who want to bring us down, as there is always a new beginning and a new path to follow.

Like the previous singles, “Brand New Way” was mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), and again shows a great evolution in the band’s sound. The music brings the characteristic identity that marks Armored Dawn’s sound, expands horizons and surprises those who still don’t know the band’s music.

As is Armored Dawn’s tradition, the new single also features a super-produced music video, directed by Rafael Agostino, also the band’s keyboardist. The current lineup features Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums).

Armored Dawn emerged in 2014 and became relevant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, they played tours and shows alongside great bands like Saxon, Megadeth, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Europe, Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Fates Warning, Sabaton and Tarja.

The first two albums Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by great names like Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn), Bruno Agra (We Are Harlot) and Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach).

The third album, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, the latter a veteran producer with over 200 bands under his belt and a Latin Grammy.

Featuring a sophisticated and versatile metal, the band collects great works in videos, such as “Sail Away”, which had a cinematic production, as well as “Beware of the Dragon”, shown in all movie theaters in Brazil during the trailers for the movie Aquaman, in 2018. “Ragnarok” and “Animal Uncaged” (recorded at the Rockfest festival, at Allianz Parque, São Paulo, when they played for around 37,000 people) add up to millions of views on YouTube.

During the pandemic, they released the single “Stronger Together”, which was very well accepted by the public.

Then, already preparing the ground for the forthcoming fourth album, “Brand New Way”, they released the singles “S.O.S.” which featured an amazing music video, and the heavy and melancholy “Tides”.

Recorded at Dharma Studios, mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), the album will be released later this year.
