Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Arrested by Federal Agents in Manhattan
Rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, whose reputation has been overshadowed by a series of legal troubles, was arrested late Monday by federal agents in Manhattan, according to a statement from the U.S. Federal Court. The Southern District of New York’s Attorney, Damian Williams, confirmed the arrest but kept the details under wraps, citing a sealed indictment.
“We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time,” Williams stated, withholding further information about the charges.
The arrest follows an ongoing investigation into multiple civil lawsuits accusing Combs of serious crimes, including assault and sex trafficking. Combs’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, issued a statement saying that the rapper had voluntarily returned to New York, anticipating the legal action. “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs,” Agnifilo added.
The unsealing of the indictment is expected to bring further clarity to the nature of the charges.
