Luchi Returns with “The Other Guy”: A Heartfelt Pop Anthem on Love, Betrayal, and Self-Empowerment

Published by Discover Media Digital on

Luchi is back with his infectious new pop anthem “The Other Guy,” chronicling the heartache and vulnerability of being in a relationship where you are being cheated on and finding the strength to walk away, empowering yourself in the process. Following on from the release of his acclaimed single “Like This,” which saw him storm the iTunes charts once again, the Glaswegian pop star is ready to let you in again with his latest pop anthem. The past few years have seen Luchi make waves as an exciting force in the world of pop music, known to move audiences with his vulnerable approach to music-making with soulful vocals, while keeping authenticity and emotion at the forefront of his every creative move.

With captivating melodies and feel-good production, Luchi is known as one of the most authentic songwriters in the industry. “The Other Guy” showcases his vulnerable yet relatable writing style and distinctive voice, which takes listeners on a journey like few artists can. With a captivating opening to the song, you are drawn into the story with his soulful delivery, which all leads to a sensational, anthemic chorus that will resonate in your ears long after you finish listening.

Luchi explains, “This song, like all my others, comes from a real-life experience. I was dating a guy who I thought was being honest with me and exclusively with me, but I later found out he was on a dating app and was sleeping with other people behind my back. I should have known better because he said that he wasn’t the ‘commitment type of guy,’ but when you like someone, sometimes the red flags just look like flags, and you miss them. I wanted this song to be one of those you can sing at the top of your lungs and just let all those emotions out.”

Growing up in Glasgow to an Italian family, Luchi has been independently releasing music since 2017. His first release, “Don’t Look Back,” saw him break through onto the scene, landing a place on the iTunes chart as well as a bolstering performance in the UK Songwriter Contest. His passion for creativity has seen him work with some of the world’s best writers at camps in Nashville all the way to Santorini. Luchi’s honest approach to songwriting sees him channel real-life experiences to create a listening adventure that feels emotionally raw and vibrantly intense as he aims to take the industry by storm.

The Pop History of Luchi

Luchi breaks the mold in every category. Growing up in Glasgow with his Italian family, there is not much that will phase him on his adventures through the music industry. Luchi perfected his craft from age 13, writing songs in his bedroom, and started visiting studios from the age of 17 to learn all about the recording process and began recording his original material. In 2017, he started releasing music independently. His first single, “Don’t Look Back,” stormed into No. 9 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Charts, while his third single, “Coming Home,” was comfortably sitting at No. 2 just a few months later. Since then, he has had a further 20 singles hit the top 10 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Charts.

Luchi also writes for other artists and has recently been working with up-and-coming artists on their debut projects. “As much as I love my own artist project, I have a passion for writing with others too and have been so happy to have the opportunity to do this. I’m always happiest when I’m creating.”

He made it to the regional heats of the UK Unsigned Songwriter of the Year 2016, coming 2nd in his heat and was a semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest that same year. In 2023, his single “You’ll Hurt More” was a runner-up in the International Songwriting Competition. He has also attended various writing camps worldwide, from Nashville to Santorini, working with chart-topping writers behind artists like Katy Perry, Celine Dion, Spice Girls, Christina Aguilera, Little Mix, Gary Barlow, Paloma Faith, Westlife, and Leona Lewis, to name a few.

He spent 2021/2022 working with Stargate and their team at the Los Angeles Academy for Artists & Music Production, being mentored by people like Ne-Yo, Charlie XCX, Justin Tranter, and Emily Warren, as well as Stargate themselves.

His whole life, he has been collecting all his experiences and putting them into songs. “Writing music to me is like free therapy,” explains Luchi. Now, with a distinct style, he looks set to hit the big time with his soulful voice and mature lyrics. Writing his songs from personal experience gives the lyrics a very real feeling and makes them easy to connect with. “All the songs I release start from a true-life story from my life, and I try to write in an honest and vulnerable way. As humans, we all go through different situations, but underneath, we all feel the same emotions, so I hope to bring some healing through my music.”

Luchi is ready to crack the industry and become the star he was born to be!
