Modern genre-bending and fringe-loving Fans of Jimmy Century are celebrating a spooky season victory as their unconventional holiday album, “A Coupla Holiday Spirits (Halloween Perils and Christmas Carols,)” climbs to the top of the charts. The album, a unique blend of Halloween-themed ear candy and quirky to classic Christmas tunes and anthems, has resonated with fans across multiple platforms.

“A Coupla Holiday Spirits” debuted at the top of both Amazon and iTunes holiday music charts, proving that Fans of Jimmy Century have tapped into a craving for something fresh in the holiday music landscape. The album’s success isn’t limited to just holiday categories, however. It also reached the top of the Billboard Comedy Albums chart, showcasing the band’s signature wit and offbeat humor.

This genre-bending collection features tracks like the infectious “Scream Queens” and the Calypso/Soca comedic “Wannabe Dracula,” providing the perfect soundtrack for Halloween parties and spooky season shenanigans. But the album doesn’t stop at Halloween; it seamlessly transitions into Christmas with original singalong anthems like “Here Comes Christmas” and reimagined classics, offering a complete holiday experience far beyond cookie cutter holiday music.

“We’re excited that ‘A Coupla Holiday Spirits’ is connecting with listeners,” says Alicia Perrone of Fans of Jimmy Century. “We wanted to create an album that was both fun and unexpected, something that would capture the spirit of both Halloween and Christmas in an out-of-the-box, non-traditional way.”

The History of Fans of Jimmy Century

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area/Oakland, Las Vegas-based Fans Of Jimmy Century is the mod fringe genre-bending act of vocalist/voice actor Alicia Perrone and bassist/producer/video director Victor James.  Chicago-born drummer Mike Long joined FOJC in 2022. Fans of Jimmy Century’s novelty holiday album “A Coupla Holiday Spirits (Halloween Perils and Christmas Carols)” came out 7/26/24 on AWAL/Sony Music featuring tracks “Here Comes Christmas” and “Wannabe Dracula.”  It debuted at #1 iTunes Holiday Album with all singles charting in the Top 20 and #1 Hot New Release on Amazon.  In its second week out, it charted in the Billboard Top 10 in Comedy Albums at #6 and at #17 for Digital LP Sales. Their villainess version of You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch (a favorite with TikTok users as the most popular female-lead version) reappears on the record.

The stark contrast between their songwriting and visual style began their obsession with genre-bending and creating their own unique world of characters to deliver each song. FOJC’s YouTube and branding focuses on music, comedy, and slop culture. Their kitschy music, outlandish videos, and bold style on the fringe of the status quo are enjoyed by the younger generation and the young at heart, which in turn landed them on this year’s Grammy nomination ballot for Best Children’s Music Album.

Popular song Va Va Voom to the Moon” was feat. on Netflix Top 10 hit “Emily in Paris.” The track is popular again thanks to media giant Pop Sugar featuring their video. The album “Modern Inferno” feat. a cover of Sponge’s Wax Ecstatic and charted at #11 on the Alternative charts. The song “Best of My Generation [All The Way Clean Edit]” is an official NBA Song for MVP player Giannis Antetokounmpo (aka The Greek Freak from the Milwaukee Bucks.)

Over 250 Film and Television syncs include Emily in Paris, WB film Get Hard, NBA, Ray Donovan, Law and Order: SVU, Gossip Girl, The L Word, Finding Nemo, Hall Pass, Bad Teacher, Housewives of NYC, Snapped, etc.

Producer Chris Moon (known for discovering Prince) discovered FOJC and invited them to collaborate on new tracks with a release date TBA. He was quoted “I thought when I discovered Prince, I found the last great talent on the planet. I was wrong. FOJC are awesome.”

Going forward, FOJC will launch a Holiday production Las Vegas residency in support of their holiday record in 2025 and will continue their avant garde production show “Fatale Originale.”
